Perform Achieve and Trade (PAT)

Under National Mission for Enhanced Energy Efficiency (NMEEE), the scheme of Perform Achieve and Trade (PAT) is a regulatory instrument to reduce specific energy consumption in energy intensive industries.

An associated market based mechanism, will enhance the cost effectiveness through certification of excess energy saving which can be traded.

The PAT Scheme is implemented over a three year period. CERC is the market regulator for trading of ESCerts and the platform for trading are the power exchanges. ESCerts available for trading will be for PAT Cycle 1 (2012 – 2015). Each certificate will be a tradable commodity and the price discovery will depend on the demand and supply of ESCerts.

Mock Trading for Energy Saving Certificate (ESCerts)

One of India’s leading power exchange will conduct a mock trading session on Tuesday 2nd August 2017 from 16.30 Hrs. Matching of bids will be done through Uniform Price Closed Auction methodology. There will be no financial or delivery based obligation raised on the Members for trades done in the mock session.

Members may kindly note that the trading in Energy Saving Certificates (ESCerts) segment will be available under trading platform of “TAM/REC Segment”. ESCerts segment will be available for trading on every Tuesday of each month from 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm.

The final date of commencement of trading in ESCerts will be informed shortly.
