Bureau of Energy Efficiency Mandates Submission of Report on Status of Energy Consumption by Designated Consumers

Bureau of Energy Efficiency, a statutory body under Ministry of Power, Government of India has come out with a notification which requires Designated Consumers of 12 sectors to submit the “Status on Energy Consumption, together with annual production for the last 2 years, namely 2015-16 & 2016-17 in Form 1” notified under Clause I of section 14 of the Energy Conservation Act, 2001 (52 of 2001).

The sectors included are as follows:

  1. Thermal Power Stations
  2. Fertilizer
  3. Cement
  4. Iron & Steel
  5. Chlor-Alkali
  6. Aluminium
  7. Textile
  8. Pulp & Paper
  9. Petroleum Refineries
  10. Electricity Distribution Companies
  11. Railways
  12. Commercial Buildings or Establishments (Hotels)
