Tata Power Delhi Distribution is collaborating with multiple companies, institutions and funding agencies for technology innovation to introduce host of energy efficiency measures.

The company is tying up with General Electric, IBM, RayChem and 3M as well as USAID, USTDA and Fin Pro for carrying out research in developing cost-effective energy saving technologies.

It has collaborated with IBM for developing call centre analytics and GE for theft analytics. The company has collaborated with IIT Bombay, Stanford University, University of Canada, University of California and University of Finland for rolling out pilot projects in energy efficiency and home automation technologies.

The company plans to launch a mobile app for android phone users that will enable its consumers to control electrical applications when they are away from home. The pilot phase of the app will cover subscribers consuming at least 1,200 units per month, he said.

It has tied up with three firms to launch an energy conservation initiative.
